What Causes Severe Fatigue While Taking Prednisone For Bronchitis?

I was diaganosed with asthmatic bronchitis ended up in the hospital was solumedral and albuteral treatments was also given 2 rounds of prednisone tablets. I am home but very exhausted. Also have lost 16 pounds in 3 weeks. How long will it take to get my strength back? How long does it take to get prednisone out of system?

Its your Physician to help you out. I have read your querry very carefully & in detail. I have a years long experience to treat such patients successfully and I want to reassure you that there is nothing to worry.
Its not prednisone which is causing trouble to you rather its your Bronchitis and its complications which made you weak. But please dont worry. It all will be fine after few days. Stick to your treatment regimen and remember: as your breath will get comfortable and smooth, your weakness will also go away accordingly. Your lungs are a bit damaged and there is ventilation perfusion mismatch that is leading to little oxygen delivery to tissues. And your muscles are feeling week due to less ATP(energy) produced due to less oxygen.
Dont even sit near a smoker. Quit if u are a smoker. Take plenty of fluids. And also get your herat checked by a Cardiologist.
