What Causes Severe Foot Pain Below The Toes?

I have pain in my right foot, on the top of the foot, just behind the toes. I have had this issue just come and go for awhile now, but today it really intensified.....if I bend my foot, toes towards the ground, it is very, very painful. Then, in a couple minutes it dissapates and I can walk OK ?

Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist 's  Response
hi,

thank you for providing the brief history of you.

A thorough neuromuscular assessment is advised.

Also, as per your symptoms the pain can be due to the increased uric acid levels in blood, which can be measured by undergoing a simple urine test. If the uric acid levels found more - then medical management can control it. Post that performing physical therapy for the same will help to avoid future recurrence.

If the test is negative than, you may need an MRI of lumbar spine. As due to a mild compression of the nerve in the lumbar spine there is a pain in the great toe.

Well, for this, medical management can take care of it and post which you may have to undergo a proper physical therapy to strengthen the muscular system so the lumbar spine injuries and pathology will be under control.

in my clinical practice both cases have been treated with 99% outcome score. I also wish you the same.
