Hi,

I don't know whether your wife is a younger or older lady since age group can tell us a lot about possible headache types especially if this is a NEW vs. OLD problem. If she is on the younger side (i.e. 50) then, a sudden new onset headache should be looked at by a NEUROLOGIST and a mass lesion in the head or aneurysm, etc. should be ruled out.

In all, in my opinion your wife would be best served by a neurologist or even more specifically a HEADACHE SPECIALIST who can then, guide her through diagnosis and therapy of her problem.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dariush Saghafi, Neurologist
