Hello,
You have headache on the left top side of your head since a year. It is a frequent
throbbing pain. You have not mentioned if you have
high blood pressure or if you suffer from anxiety problems. Severe
throbbing headache on one side is indicative of
migraine headache. It can get triggered due to anxiety, stress or high blood pressure. If it is so you can take the medicine prescribed by your treating doctor.
Such headaches occur due to direct exposure to sunlight, strong smell, dust, pollution, animal dander, skipping meals,
dehydration, stress, both physical and emotional. Take food in time, stay well hydrated and avoid stress. Stay away from addictions, smoking, caffeine, drugs, alcohol, etc., as they may trigger your symptoms.
Prefer to stay in a dimly lighted room with humidifiers. Take break between work and relax. void working continuously on your PC or laptop. You can take triptans, sumatriptan (Imitrex), it can gives relieve. You are suggested to get CT / MRI done to detect the pathology causing you symptoms. Get treated at the earliest.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
