What Causes Severe Headaches And Dizziness In Spite Of Being On Medication For High BP?
I am currently being weaned off micardis 40mg which I was on for the past three years for the treatment of high blood pressure. I am taking 1 every 2nd day for 7 days then 1 every 3rd day for 7 days then I am finished. I am 33. I have had awful headaches and dizziness for the past week which I got checked out in casualty and all was ok. Is a Reading of 106/69 normal or is it very low?
Your present reading of 106/69 of your BP is OK. You have not clarified, why you want to wean off the drug. Definitely, drug induced hypotension, causing dizziness, may be one of the reason. As this drug has no addictive effects. Hence, you need not a tapering fashion to wean off the drug. You can stop this drug even abruptly without any withdrawal symptoms.
However, the further dose of drug, should be stabilized after continuous monitoring of your BP readings at least for a few days. The stoppage, addition, reduction of the drug or altering its dose should be strictly under guidance of your health care provider.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
