Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I ve been getting bad headaches that are being triggered by laughing. They start at the base of my skull and spread outward like fire. I ve had a CT, MRV, MRA, MRI w/o die, MRI w/ die and everything is clear. I m not sure where to go next with the search for answers. My current neurologist wants to possibly do a spinal tap but I m not sure that s the best choice as of yet. Any advice?
By your history and description, possibility of migraine is more likely. Migraine can cause similar kind of headache and all reports are normal in migraine. It is clinical diagnosis only.
So you can take Propranolol and Flunarizine combination at night time before going to sleep. You should take this for 1 month. If your headache is improving then migraine is confirmed. No need for spinal tap.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Kaushal Bhavsar,
