What Causes Severe Headaches?

husband 83 having severe headaches. doctors cant find anything with cat scans & mri. gone to emergency 3 times in last month. gave him oxy/codeine & now varapamil for cluster headaches. doesn t help much. no answers except to go back to nurologist, but the spinal taps didn t help. don t know what to do.

check ESR especially if he has blurred vision to look for giant cell arteritis (temporal arteritis)
