What Causes Severe Headaches?

hi, my daughter has had a severe headache for about 11 days straight with no break, been to ER 3x s. they tried to do a lumbar puncture tonight 3x s then decided that if it were meningitis she would have been progressively worse from the 3rd day of headaches, so they decided against lumbar puncture and sent her home saying it is a viral infection, how long can this last?

Hello dear!
i can understand your concern.
I would like to have a more detailed history regarding the symptoms like the presence of fever,photobhobia and vomiting.
If these symptoms are absent its only a viral infection or could be sinusitis.
I would like to advise an x-ray PNS for sinusitis.
Give some good antihistamines like levocetrizine once at bed time.Give saline nebulization or steam inhalation atleast twice a day.
