What Causes Severe Itching On The Body When Diagnosed With Viral Fever?

Hi doc. Im 44 Year old male. Diagnosed with viral fever. Dengue has been rulled out after blood tests. Going through regular medication. Im haveing sever itching all over body and i could not get sleep properly. No rashes just itching. What is the cause and reamedy plese advise.

As per your query you have symptoms of severe itching on the body when diagnosed with viral fever which seems to be due to poor immunity of the body.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to
- Take an anti-inflammatory medication such as Zyrtec.
- Maintain proper personal hygiene.
- Apply cold compresses to reduce the itchiness and inflammation.
- Drink plenty of fluids.
- Avoid touching or pricking rashes and apply calamine lotion to soothe them.
- Avoid application of any hard cosmetics.

You should consult a dermatologist for proper examination Doctor may order skin patch test, blood test, test for allergy and physical examination. The doctor may prescribe corticosteroid ointment, antibiotics, anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressants.
