What Causes Severe Jaw Pain Radiating To The Chest?

I have sever jaw pain that radiates to my chest. I ve ad a full work up on heart and it is fine. My attacks are becoming more frequent and the pain is increasing. I end up in the er two to three times every couple of weeks and no knows what s going on.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your son is having severe jaw pain radiating to the chest. Well there can be many reasons for pain in jaw . It could be because of TMJ (temporomandibular joint )problem or due to bruxism that is clenching of teeth at night or muscle spasm. Sometimes the symptoms can also point towards cardiac problem like angina , so consult cardiologist to rule out this problem . Due to clenching of teeth at night jaw begins to pain and pain radiates to other parts also like head and neck . I would suggest you to consult dentist for proper evaluation of the condition . Doctor may examine physically or order tests X-ray of tooth , Ct scan or MRI of TMJ . Doctor may give night guard to you son along with muscle relaxants . Doctor may also recommend physical therapy and stretching exercises of jaw.
