After a colonoscopy I have had extremely sever lower back pain. The Dr. Removed a lemon sized flat polyp and that area has addressed, I m being treated with antibiotics for that but the back pain seems to be a mystery, my Dr. Thinks I may have strained tendons in that area but it s been a month and the pain is really not much better.?

Hi,

While most people do not experience negative symptoms after the first hour or so following a colonoscopy a number of people have experienced back pain for some days afterward.you should certainly inform your doctor about this to be sure that it's not a significant complication. Good luck with your healing.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care.

Regards,
Dr. Ajeet Singh, General & Family Physician
