What Causes Severe Nausea Along With Swelling In The Ankles And Feet?

I have been recently experiencing nausea, swelling in ankles and feet. I thought I had a uti, went to medexpress and got an antibiotic, but my culture came back clear. I had bloodwork about 1 and 1/2 years ago and it came back perfect. No problems with any internal organs, etc. I am a female, age 42. Is this something to be concerned about, and if so, any ideas on what it could be?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The nausea may or may not be linked to the swelling.

Swelling of the feet is most commonly due to : (1) venous disease- presence of varicose veins
(2)heart disease
(3)side effect of medication eg the blood pressure medication amlodipine
(4)kidney disease
(5)arthritis or trauma to the ankle or leg
(6)liver disease

Nausea may occur with some of these causes but not with all.

It may be best to see your doctor for an assessment to determine the exact cause of your symptoms.

I hope this helps
