Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been prescribed metformin because I have pcos and a family history of diabetes. I am also iron deficient and vitamin d deficient. I have been taking my iron tablets first this in the morning and my contraceptive pill. Then taking my metformin with lunch and vitamin d in the evening. I have severe nausea in the late afternoon and my stool is dark green. I am going twice a day (before I used to go once every second day) I also get stomach rublmes through the day. Should I stop taking metformin 500g???
The symptoms you are having is likely due to the medicines that you are taking. Most commonly nausea is observed with iron supplemental tabs. I would suggest you consult your doctor before stopping any drug on your own. If needed she will change your medicines or add another to counter your symptoms.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Manisha Auradkar, General & Family Physician
