What Causes Severe Pain In Both Of My Ears?

so, i have severe pain in both of my ears (i initially had just a common cold, so deduced it to being ear infection) but the pain went away when my ears popped, and no blood, and wax, and slightly mucousy? stuff is coming out of my ears, and they kind of sting, or ache, on and off, but the stuff is constantly coming out. what have i, and what should i, do about this?
