What Causes Severe Pain In Joints Of A Breast Cancer Patient?

I am a 3yr breast cancer survivor-having had a bi-lateral mastectomy w reconstruction using my latassimus back muscles, frankly, I have body and joint pain daily! I had chemo and herceptin before surgery and am taking an AI until 2018. Why do medical staff give me the feeling I shouldn t be taking Norco for the pain? My life would be doing nothing if I didn t use it?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Continue analgesics( pain killers). Considering the history of breast cancer, we have to think of the possibility of bone metastasis also. A bone scan also be required to rule out bone metastasis. Consult an oncologist and he will direct you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
