General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
HI, I understand your concern. You seem to have lumber spine problem. It is in form of degenerative changes in vertebrae& inter vertebral disk.It is a progressive condition& aggrevates with age. It results in pressure/ clinching of spinal nerves that results in nerve irritation.. mild & occasional to start with & goes on advancing if left unattended.Similarly you has occasional sciatica to start with & now the symptoms are more extensive .. which indicates more & more nerve pressure. You should visit a spinal surgeon , get examined & uinvestigated ( Xray, MRI, CT scan) Treatment would be medicines/ physiotherapy/ surgery depending on the cause. But you can be symptom free with an altered lifestyle & care through out life. Thanks.
