What Causes Severe Pain In The Feet And Difficulty While Walking Other Than Plantar Fasciitis?
Ive had a sudden onset of severe pain in the bottom of my feet 3 weeks ago. Thinking it was possibly plantar fasciitis I ignored it and it gradually got to the point I was unable to walk on my feet. About a week after the pain started swelling became noticable. Over the past 2 weeks now the swelling has gone up to about 3 inches above my ankles, they have become red with purple patches and the pain is intense. Now within the past 3 days Ive noticed several other joints have become painful and now Im getting red round lumps around my elbows. Ive been to my dr who said plantar fasciitis, but this was when I was only 2 weeks into this and before the purple patches and lumps. I need some advice. Im currently unable to walk. Thank you
Hi I did review your concern. I believe with such swelling and purple lesions it is not planter fascitis. But these constellation of problems can be due to vein thrombosis or due to cellulitis or local infection or lymphedema. I would recommend you to consult your doctor and get the lesion evaluated and begin antibiotic therapy if needed. Meanwhile leg elevation and leg rest miight also reduce swelling and help for the pain little bit. I would recommend a doctor consult as soon as possible. I hope this helps. Wish you all the best. Thank you for choosing healthcaremagic.
