What Causes Severe Pain In The Feet?

Every time I take part in an exercise(basketball, tennis, etc..) that requires extensive lateral movement and even sometimes after a rather long run the outside of my foot works it way from a uncomfortable feel to a crippling pain that requires extended periods of time. It is such a pain that I can hardly walk immidetialey after and even some the next day. Eventually, I lay off of it and it is back to normal completely around 2 days later. I ve looked for solutions on line but they are very vague and need more guidance! I also have a rather high arch. I m not sure if that s relevant but hope that helps!

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Possibility of soft tissue injury (ligamental or muscular) at ankle joint is more likely.
So better to consult orthopedic doctor and get done clinical examination and MRI of foot.
You may need splint and immobilization of foot.
Anti inflammatory drugs are also beneficial.
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
