What Causes Severe Pain In The Foot When Having A History Of Gout?

I HAD gout earlier this year on the large joint of my big right toe. I got a prescription from my family Doctor. Now am having a great deal of pain on the outside of the right foot. I am not sure what he prescribed at that time it did clear up within a week or so. Would this be a form of gout i am experiencing now?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms are probably related to gout. I recommend doing the uric acid blood level to confirm the diagnosis.

Meanwhile, I recommend using anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen three tablets a day to reduce the pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
