What Causes Severe Pain In The Soles Of The Feet?

I have severe pain in the bottom of my feet. It started as a foot on fire feeling, now I get sharp pains plus the bottom of my foot on fire. I am taking gabapentin , which has not helped any. I am so miserable. I cannot take it anymore. I just want it all to end. I am not a druggy, I do not drink or smoke, I am 62. All the rest of my health is fine. I am not a diabetic. What could it be???

it can be peripheral neuritis. exclude diabetes. if so then control with medication and diet control. avoid smoking. take tab neurobion forte daily for 30days. go for blood test like glycolated hemoglobin. consult diabetologist.
