What Causes Severe Pain On The Ear With Swollen Lymph Node?

I have been having sharp shooting pains in my ear...well it feels like behind it. Went to the dr and she said no infection but my lymph nodes were swollen. She sent me for xrays thinking it was my mastoid bone. The xrays were negative. Tonight the pain is very bad shooting like every couple minutes

Hi,
It seems that you might be having acute infection in your middle ear giving rise severe pain and enlarged tender lymph nodes.
You might require one course of antibiotic medicine for 5 days.
Take some anti-inflammatory medicine like Ibuprofen for 2-3 days.
