General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* It is the underlying bacterial and possible fungal infection responsible for pelvic pain and chills and not the Pap smear.

Suggested guidelines for best recovery:

- drink more and more liquids
- strict vaginal hygiene with antiseptic liquid and keep area dry
- avoid prolonging use of same tampons ( if menses )
- wear loose, clean, cotton inner wears
- avoid vaginal intercourse ( if active )
- control of blood sugar
- take medications as per the doc guidelines ( preferably accordingly swab culture sensitivity report).

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
