What Causes Severe Pressure In The Sternum After A Chest Injury?

A few years ago I tried to lift a large container of water. I injured my chest..in the area of my sternum... and it was weeks before I could brush my hair or do laundry, etc without pain. (I newver went to the doctor) It has occasionally flared up when I lift heavy itemsor over exert myself. Now, for some reason it is bothering me again and the bottom of my sternum is tender to touch and is even sensitive to the pressure from my bra. Can you explain what is happening?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be due to minor contusion. Fracture is unlikely. As of now you can use analgesics/anti inflammatory combination like aceclofenac/seratiopeptdase for symptomatic relief. If symptoms persists better to consult a physician and get evaluated

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
