What Causes Severe Rashes After Taking Prednisone For Allergic Reaction From Amoxicillin?

Got an allergic reaction from amxoxillin and now was given presidone and was told to take benadrly at night do not seem to be getting relieve rash seems to get worse with the body temperature. Meanwhile my doctor called a prescription of hydroxy as he did not know I was on presdone after going to urgent care my question is should I start taking the hydroxy and stop the presidone

Hi,

In my opinion, only Hydroxyzine will not serve your purpose. You will have to start both Hydroxyzine and Prednisolone for the time being. Then try to reduce the dosage gradually, first trying to reduce the dose of Prednisolone in a gradual tapering manner till completely weaned off Prednisolone. After you are completely off the Prednisolone, reduce the dose of Hydroxyzine gradually, till completely off the drug.
