What Causes Severe Sharp Pain Behind Right Ear And Temple Area?

My boyfriend is 43. He is getting severe sharp pain behind his right ear and his temple area. They come on for no reason. They went away last night but this morning came back after he we had sex and he came. What can cause this and what can prevent or alleviate them?

hello , it looks like he is having trigeminal neualgia, where nerve gets irritates with no reason and causes sharp lanciating pain behind d ear.in my opinion he can take tab.tegretol 200mg once daily at bed time can be taken for 5 days.if d pain still persistent kindly visit an ent surgeon.
