What Causes Severe Vaginal Dryness While On Amoxicillin After A Surgery?

I m not going through menopause at all. But I m experiencing severe vaginal dryness. I m married and have only ever had 2 sexual partners in my life. I ve never experienced this. I just had surgery and I am taking amoxicillin. Could that be the cause for the dryness?

Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Taking amoxicillin antibiotic is not known to be associated with vaginal dryness.
You could be experiencing it probably due to fungal (yeast) infection. Sometimes, this could result following surgery.
Kindly do the following to overcome the symptoms.
1. Wash the area with mild antiseptic solution like Savlon thrice daily.
2. Apply single dose antifungal medication like Fluconazole pessary via vaginal route.
3. Use vaginal pH balancing solution like 'v wash' regularly.
4. Take Tablet.Levocetrizine once a day to in case you experience itching.
5. Apply moisturizer cream/lotion during bedtime.
6. Wear loose fitting undergarments to provide proper ventilation and avoid friction in the affected area.
8. Abstain from sexual activities till the symptoms subside completely.
Maintain clean and good personal hygiene.
Gradually, your symptoms should subside and you should feel better.
