What Causes Severe Vomiting After A Meal In A Child?
Doctor . my child is 3.3 year old we went in party their he ate one bite of butter non...but in ngt near 1 a.m.he start vomiting...he vomits 6 to 7 times...after that I gave him a ondem syrup 5 ml..is it OK..or what I should do at this time in ngt for him....i
Vomiting in child in this case is due to ingestion of some offending agent - food, contaminated hand or toy which the child put in mouth. It is generally self limiting and does not require more treatment than already given if there are no other symptoms.
If the child is tolerating oral medication you can continue ondan till child is asymptomatic and then stop gradually.
Please also continue with sips of liquid diet followed by soft diet in the above case. Wash hands thoroughly before handling food. Give the child boiled and cooled water for few days. If child is refractory to treatment and dehydrated u might consider intravenous rehydration. The child might also develop fever or loose motions that will require further treatment and re-evaluation.
