What Causes Severely Itching Body Rashes Along With Sore Throat And Fever?
Yes I have the symptoms of a severely itchy and burning rash over most of my body. A moderate sore throat and 102.6 fever. I have had not had any contact with anything new, have not eaten anything new to eat and have taken 16 benedryl with no relief from the itching and burning. What do you think it is?
It is possible that the fever and sore throat mean that you have an early viral infection (cough/cold or flu). A rash can sometimes be associated with some viral infections, this is called a viral exanthem.
It would normally resolve with or soon after the viral illness itself.
You may need a stronger antihistamine such as hydroxyzine along with a topical agent such as calamine lotion , to help with the itching. If there is no improvement then a short course of steroids may be needed.
Pain medication such as paracetamol or ibuprofen would help with the sore throat and fever. Topical medications such as covonia or chloroseptic spray/gargle would also help the throat.
I hope this helps
