What Causes Sharp Pain In The Lower Abdomen While On Regestrone For Irregular Periods?
I was having irregular periods so Dr prescribed me regestrone 5mg for twenty days two dose each day. After taking this tablet I feel sharp pain in lower abdomen and lot of pressure to pee. Even bleeding starts like period and ends in few hours. Please suggest and help.
Hi dear thanks for writing to Health Care Magic.. you are having breakthrough bleeding effect of regestrone which contains a progesterone helps in maintenance of periods, It is a relatively safe medicine but cramps, bleeding (stays and goes away), increase frequency of urination are commonest side effects and are temporary to get relief from this I advise Pain relievers such as acetamenophen and ibuprofen. also maintain personal hygeine and do not delay urination which may cause Urinary Tract Infection.Give your body time to acclimatise the regesterone effect. If bleeding persists then consult gynaecologist. Thanks and regards Dr.Sohil Takodara
