What Causes Sharp Shooting Pain Around Placed Pacemaker After Taking Eliquis?

I have had a pacemaker for 2 years and was just told yesterday my heart was in A-Fib. I have been given Eliquis to be taken for 3 weeks. Took the first dose at 3 pm today. I have sharp shooting pains near my pacemaker unlike any I have had before. Curious if this could be from the pacemaker.
