What Causes Sharp Spasm Under Left Side Of Rib Cage When Bending?

Very often when I bend down I get a sharp spasm right under the left side of my rib cage and I have to rub that area very quickly to stop the pain and I have to straighten up immediately. This has been going on for about 27 years now. I was once told I had a Hiatal Hernia, could that be causing it?

Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
As you was told, there is possibility of the hiatal hernia, the other possibilities are the spleen, or pancreas pain, or it may be due to the kidney swelling.
I advise you to consult a surgeon for diagnosis and treatment.
You may need to have an M.R.I. for diagnosis.
Avoid taking spices, junk foods, and oily foods.
I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms omeprazole, domperidone, and antacid gel till the diagnosis is established.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
