What Causes Shooting Pain In Neck Radiating To Shoulder?
I know I have degenerative disc issues in my neck. But I ve had a crick you might call it in my left neck for a month. Now for the past week when I get in certain positions it feels like an electric current running from my left neck across the top of my left shoulder and into my left lower ear and face. It isn t painful. It s just causing me concern.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to radiculopathy from disc degeneration. Spinal cord compression (maculopathy) also gives such symptoms. A physical examination by orthopedician and MRI should be carried out to rule out the condition. Muscle relaxants like tizanidine , NSAIDs like nimusulide and neurotropic drugs like pregabalin & methylcobalamin will be helpful. Physiotherapy along with this will help also. You can also wear soft cervical collar for short period. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
