Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have the nexplanon implant in my left arm and i have had it for 10 months. it has not caused any problems until the last few days i have felt a shooting pain in the area where the implant is every time i try to raise my arm or straiten it. I took Advil and it helped but the pain is still there. Is this serious?
* The arm pain seems to be displacement related to implant giving some sort of nerve ending irritation.
* It is recommended to remove it for a particular period of time with add-on the usage of an alternative method of contraception to get cured.
I would like to admire your further doubts anytime.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
