What Causes Shortness Of Breath And Dizziness?

I have been having real bad shortness of breath and heart beating strange. Very tired all the time. Can t walk without losing my breath. I have been told that I have a murrmer several years ago and a couple years ago I was told that I might have a valve not opening or closing probably. I was also told years ago that I have a small hole in the center of heart. I get light headed and dizzy. Even when I am laying down. My breathing is sometimes out of control. I am a 19 year old man. I do have anxiety but not bad. Just a little.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
From what you have explained, you have a heart problem leading to the mixing of arterial and venous blood, causing you to have shortness of breath and dizziness.
You will need to see a cardiologist, and after having a cardiac ultrasound done or a transesophageal echocardiogram he will tell you if you need to see a heart surgeon, or if you can control these symptoms with medicine described by your cardiologist.
Hope I have answered your question.
Wish you good health!
