What Causes Sleep Paralysis?

I m a 66 years old female. Last night I had what I thought was a dream, but now I m not so sure. I had not slept well, and finally fell asleep. While asleep, I heard extremely loud noises, primarily a loud buzzing, and felt like someone had me by the shoulders and was shaking me around. When I woke up after the dream, or episode, I felt completely out of it and could barely move. I ve never experienced anything like this before. Could this have been some sort of seizure activity?

Hello,
Sleep paralysis is a different phenomenon by itself, which is completely normal & nothing to worry about.
But if this problem persists you should get a ct scan brain plain done to rule out any lesions in the brain.
