What Causes Sleeplessness After Taking Trazodone?

I have been given Trazodone 50mg.......I take 1 tablet at bedtime for sleep. however, im finding that it isn t very effective. I gave it plenty of time to work last night and still.....sleep did not come. Dr. told me if that happened that I could take another tablet and I did and again, I tossed and turned frustrated because I could not sleep. Any suggestions that may help. Now Im frustrated because there is a fee to get an answer and I was not aware of that. I simply cannot afford it!! I am in tears because of lack of sleep and now I find this out. I just want to know if this is a sleep medication?

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, if this is the case of insomnia then it need to be try with the hot milk prior to bed instead of trying some sedatives, along with the hot milk, aerobic exercise, can be tried, yoga, meditation, relaxation therapy would be best too, and most important would be stress, and anxiety, these need to be kept nil, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
I find this answer helpful
