What Causes Sleeplessness And Irritation In A 6 Month Old At Night?
Hello Doctor, my baby is almost 6 months old. We have started giving her rice cerelac 2 times in a day. she has been giving us tough time at night. She does not sleep and she is irritated. Dont know whats the problem. Could you please tell me what could be the reason.
If you are currently not giving the cereal at night, you may want to do this. In some babies, the irritation can be due to hunger as their bodies start needing more. If she is using cereal, then you may want to make sure that she is getting enough for her weight and age.
If she is having any symptoms such as diarrhea or vomiting, then it may be that she is not tolerating the milk that she is using and this may need to be changed. Baby colic is also a cause of night time irritation but this would normally occur at a younger age. If the cause is not clear, then she may need to see her doctor for an assessment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Michelle Gibson James
