Dear , This is Dr. S.Tomar from Healthcaremagic.com's medical team and I will be your medical advisor for this question. Thank you for sharing your concern with us and showing trust on us.
Any injury of ulnar nerve results in similar symptoms . Your symptoms are suggestive of ulnar nerve entrapment and most probably cubital tunnel syndrome . Mild to moderate cases gets resolved on its own by following simple conservative approach . I would recommend you to maintain a good posture and avoid those activities which causes stress on ulnar nerve . Repetitive elbow flexion should be avoided to make the healing faster . I would also suggest you to wear an arm splint while sleeping so that arm would be straight instead of bent . For pain reduction OTC NSAIDs can be used . As fas as melatonin pills are concerned so I would like to inform you that It's doses varies from 0,2 to 20 mg can be used before bedtime and doses should be adjusted with consulting with your Healthcare providers . Melatonin should be started at lowest effective doses and should gradually be increased . There are other better medicines available for sleep problem about which you should ask to your healthcare providers .
I wish you good health.
