Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My great-nephew has been taking Adderall and has a history of drug abuse. He is on multiple medications and when he uses the Adderall he does not sleep and has signs of being paranoid. His family physician continues to prescribe it. I worry that he is not taking the Adderall properly and quite possibly even snorting it as he has done with other medications. Can Adderall be fatal?
Any medicine may prove fatal if taken in a large dose or taken for a long time without any indication or need. If the medicine is prescribed by physician and drug is taken as directed by physician and regular follow up is there then it may not prove anything wrong not even fatal. Only thing is it should be in the right dose and for the proper time period as suggested according to the illness of the patient.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Akhtarhusain,
