What Causes Slightly Elevated Blood Pressure Level While On Amlodipine?

i am under amlodipine 10mg maintenance for more than a year now, i used to monitor my bp every morning after a few minutes from showering and before the first meal of the day. This morning, i was busy gardening outside and i tried to measure it a little bit late with my stomach crumbling from hunger, and no showering, , it was 128/84 with 76 pulse rate. This was the highest number of my bp result ever since i took amlodipine, it usually ranges from 109-121 sys/ 68-78 diastolic.... Is it possibly caused by the hungry sound of my empty stomach? or what,,? i dont wanna feel anxious about it coz. i know it would cause more trouble with me..thanks in advance

Thanks for putting your query over here.
You are absolutely right that you need not get anxious recording your BP every morning.
BP is a parameter of body which undergoes variation throughout day with various activities, mental status and environmental conditions. You are on maientance dose of amlodipine, and basically your BP seems under control. You just have to keep taking the medication as your doctor prescribed while checking for your BP and other health complications at regular intervals like 1 month or so(as your doctor prescribed depending upon your recovery). No need of monitoring BP everyday unless you have complaints like palpitations, chest pain, shortness of breath, headache, tingling numbness in hands. All these symptoms denote visiting your physician as soon as possible.

Thanks and regards.
