What Causes Slurred Speech, Walking Difficulty And Tingling Sensation In The Hands?

I have a sister, 52 years old, who was hospitalized recently. She has slurred speech, tingling and dumbness in the hands and feet, difficulty controlling her movements, difficulty walking and difficulty controlling her bladder. She has a past history of the following autoimmune diseases: Guillain Barre & myasthenia Gravis. Is it possible for those to flare up again? What other issues might we be looking at. A spinal was done yesterday and we are waiting for the results.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I think her neurologist doctor may look for a TIA because this clinical features lead to brain injury. Further information about blood pressure and total blood count and biochemical blood balance may need to be evaluated.

Take care.

Hope my answer was helpful, if you have any other questions I'll be glad to help you.
