What Causes Soar Throat, Ringing In Ears And Headache After An Artery Shot ?

Is it possible to hit an artery in the neck with a methamphetamine injection and still have close to normal cognitive function? I have been an IV user for about 20 yrs, and am almost positive it was an artery shot. It was weak stuff, yet pupils dialated hugely. High was intense, but unusually bad. It has been aprox. 36 hrs. Symptoms at present are soar throat, ringing in ears, extreme headache, intermittent hoarseness. I don t want to cause anyone legal trouble by panicking, but I also don t want more serious consequences if treatment is needed. I just thought if something serious was going to happen, it would have by now. I know some about artery injection, & honestly don t understand how I m still standing. I don t know much about nerve injections, though, and wonder if that may be what occurred. It frightened me enough that I will never IV again. That s saying something tremendous coming from me.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
hello and welcome to health care magic,

What you described can happen both due to an arterial shot or even due to any vascular complication resulting from the arterial or intravenous shot.

In any case my advice to you would be to consult a physician as soon as possible so that a proper diagnosis can be reached and a proper treatment can be initiated to prevent any further complications.
You can also try placing your question in the Hypertension and heart disease section of our website
Needless to say stop the habit for your own good
regards
