Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Social Anxiety While On Tri-Cyclen And Vyvanse?
I have been taking tri cyclen lo for 8 months now and I take 35 mg of vyvanse I have extreme blushing I am a confident person and don t usually have social anxiety but I get red and blush randomly could this be from taking any of these pills or a hormone imbalance?
I can understand your concern. Tri-cyclen consists of Ethinyl estradiol and Norgestimate. The drug is a commonly used contraceptive agent. The drug combination is known to cause flashing of face, blushing as side effect. Vyvanse is an amphetamine drug and the drug is also known to cause intense excitation and may sometimes precipitate panic attacks or anxiety. So both drugs could be the reason for your symptoms. If symptoms are intolerable and causing significant distress the please visit a psychiatrist for help and treatment. For such symptoms SNRI drugs like Duloxetine, Venlafaxine etc have been used with great success. Visit a psychiatrist for evaluation and treatment.
Thanks, I hope this helps. Take care
