What Causes Sore Lumps Under The Injection Site On Arm?
My 45 yr old son has to take promethazine HCI 25mg/ml injections for severe nausea related to pancreatitis. We have been injecting them in his upper right arm (only because his right hand was amputated and he fears weakening his left arm) and his buttocks. However he has lumps under the skin after injections that are quite sore and achey for several days. Do you have any suggestions for different injection sites or anything that may help with the soreness?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have sore lumps under the injection site on arm. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like hematoma due to injury to soft tissue or vessel or infection at injection site . I would suggest you to visit physician once and get the area of damage examined , Doctor may prescribe aantibiotics in case of infection . You should apply thrombophob gel and ice pack on the site of swelling. Apply numbing gel on local area as well. It will take 2-3 weeks to heal it properly.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
