What Causes Sore Throat And Fever After A Colonoscopy?
I had a colonoscopy with propanol and oxygen in nose 5 days ago. Woke up with slight sore throat and chills and fever. No fever now but still have sore throat and back of throat is red and inflamed. Is this normal? I don t see the doctor again for a couple of weeks.
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Well, i dont think this is related to colonoscopy Only if there is fever with associated abdominal pain then you must see doctor as soon as possible. Also, there was no intubation so this should not be related to anesthesiology as well. This sounds to me like simple upper respiratory infection and it shoul dbe treated on this way. Drink more fluids, take vitamin C and propofol supplements. Also, if there is greenish discharge then you ll need antibiotic course with amoxicilin or azitromicin to prevent streptoccocal infection. Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
Wishing you good health.
