Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
last month I found a white spot on my tonsil and had a sore throat. I get strep basically every winter so I figured that s what it was and took the antibiotics I had left over. after about 2 or 3 days the spot left and my throat felt fine, and I never had any other symptoms, so I stopped with the antibiotics. Now, a month later, the spot is back in the same spot. should I continue with the medication?
thank you for posting your query in healthcaremagic.com....
see white spots on tonsil and sore throat are most commonly associated with strepto, but there are some other bacterial viral as well as autoimmune causes.... do the following- maintain oral hygiene gargle with povidone iodine twice daily take tab azithromycin 500 once daily / tab coamoxyclav 625 thrice daily get a throat swab done
get back with the reports.... if it recurs again, you should visit an ENT specialist...
hope that was helpful.... contact me for any further queries....
regards
