What Causes Sore Throat And White Spots On Tonsils?
I have had a sore throat for a week with white spots on my tonsils and mainly my back has felt tender to touch for days. The white spots have now gone into big black ones. On the outside of my face my neck is extremely sore to touch all the way up to my ears. Can you please help.
As per your query it seems like you have infection in throat leading to Follicular Tonsillitis and it can be bacterial or viral in nature. At times it can be viral with secondary bacterial infection.. You should consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and in case of throat infection he can advise you to take antibiotics like Levofloxacin or Azithromycin, anti-inflammaory painkillers like Ibuprofen or Naproxen, warm saline gargles, steam inhalations and avoiding spicy food. Also avoid chilled foods. Drink plenty of luke warm water..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
