What Causes Sore Throat, Cold, Headache And Body Pain?

Hi, I am Paul. I am suffering from somewhat bad sore throat, cough, headache, cold & bodyache. Can I take Azicip 500mg (WHAT is the dosage). I have already taken Tylenol & Motrin once(plus gorgling with hot water) gave me little relief). My sore throat & cough are still there. Other thing is I take Metformin-Glyburide (500-5mg) tablet for my diabetes. Is is OK to take Azicip 500mg (how many times a day & how long). Thanks.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have sore throat, cold, headache and body pain which seems to be due to upper respiratory tract infection. I would suggest you to visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. You should go for throat swab test and get blood tests done and start treatment after proper diagnosis. You should do warm saline gargles. You should take antiallergic medication such as Levocetrizine. Take proper course of antibiotic along with mucolytic agents.Take decongestant nasal spray containing Xylometazoline or oxymetazoline. You can do steam inhalations and use a humidifier in your room. Chew a Vitamin C pellet daily to improve immunity.
