What Causes Sore Throat, Intermittent Cough, Body Pain And Laryngitis?

I ve had a little fluid in my ears on and off for a couple of weeks, since yesterday I ve had a sore throat, harsh intermittent cough, body aches and now laryngitis. Is it to late in the year to be viral? How many days with home remedies in place until I see a doctor, no fever. Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms that you have mention suggest that you have an Upper Respiratory Tract Infection and you will need an appropriate antibiotic such as azithromycin for the same along with an NSAID for the relief of pain and inflammation. So until you see a doctor, you are advised to do warm saline gargles as many times as possible and I can assure you that you will get much relief. Please avoid spicy food and cold drinking water.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Prabhash Verma, General & Family Physician
