What Causes Sore Throat, Swollen Lymph Nodes In Neck After Started Melatonin?
I have had a mild sore throat and swollen lymph nodes in my neck for about a month now. I take Melatonin almost every night and recently started the pill. Does this have anything to do with it or does it sound like a virus? This has been persisting long enough.
Viral infections of the throat would not normally persist for this period of time.
Sore throat and increase lymph nodes is not a known side effect of this medication (melatonin).
It is possible that your symptoms are due to a post nasal drip. Some persons may not be aware of the drip but may experience complications such as sore throat.
In some persons there may also be coughing.
It is usually due to an allergy so avoiding the allergen if it is known would be the main aspect of treatment. In addition, using topical nasal sprays and anti histamines would be helpful as well.
I hope this helps
